《Ask Metal ---- Nana Furuya / Rie Sasaki 》

Rie Sasaki set up a work studio in Sendai, and exhibits her art works at home and abroad. The hammering technique by using a variety of metal materials brings a breeze of rich nature of the Tohoku region to an inorganic metal.

Nana Furuya set up her work studio in an old factory in Saitama Prefecture. She is also devoted to the iron work. By using a unique and tough technique called "Damascus", a time-honored hammer welding method to craft a knife and edged tools, she continues to create remarkably fascinating flavor out of irregularity and roughness in her art work.
The two independent artists are here now at Zero Hachi Gallery on the theme of “Ask Metal".

Metal is a material, with magical connotations and variety of allure.
We hope you could feel their interaction with materials through each works.
