Material choice is as important as technique in the creative process, and the two often work hand in hand.\r\nIn this exhibition, the four artists present artwork in which the materials play key roles in conveying their artistic visions.\r\n\r\n\r\n\u25cf\u30b9\u30bf\u30b8\u30aa \u30c7\u30a3\u30a2\u30ca\/Studio Deanna\r\n\u9285\u3092\u7528\u3044\u305f\u9769\u65b0\u7684\u306a\u624b\u6cd5\u306b\u3088\u308b\u30ef\u30a4\u30e4\u30fc\u5f6b\u523b\u3092\u5236\u4f5c\u3002\r\n\u69d8\u3005\u306a\u304b\u304e\u91dd\u7de8\u307f\u306e\u30c6\u30af\u30cb\u30c3\u30af\u3092\u99c6\u4f7f\u3057\u305f\u4f5c\u54c1\u306f\u3001\u8868\u9762\u5f35\u529b\u3092\u4fdd\u3061\u306a\u304c\u3089\u6d41\u308c\u308b\u6c34\u306e\u69cb\u9020\u3092\u30a4\u30e1\u30fc\u30b8\u3057\u306a\u304c\u3089\u5236\u4f5c\u3055\u308c\u307e\u3059\u3002\r\n\r\n\u25cf\u30c8\u30de \u30b8\u30e9\u30f3\/Thomas Gillant\r\n\u6cb9\u7d75\u306e\u4e0b\u5730\u3068\u3057\u3066\u91d1\u5c5e\u3001\u7279\u306b\u30a2\u30eb\u30df\u30cb\u30a6\u30e0\u3092\u7528\u3044\u3066\u4f5c\u54c1\u3092\u5236\u4f5c\u3002\r\n\u6700\u65b0\u30b7\u30ea\u30fc\u30ba\u3067\u306f\u3001\u6ed1\u3089\u304b\u306a\u5e73\u9762\u4e0a\u306b\u304a\u3051\u308b\u5149\u5b66\u7684\u52b9\u679c\u3084\u88ab\u5199\u754c\u6df1\u5ea6\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u306e\u8a66\u307f\u3092\u3054\u89a7\u3044\u305f\u3060\u3051\u307e\u3059\u3002\r\n\r\n\u25cf\u30b6\u30ab\u30e9\u30a4\u30a2\u30b9 \u30df\u30c3\u30b7\u30a7\u30eb\/Michelle Zacharias\r\n\u5875\u306e\u7c92\u5b50\u304b\u3089\u4f5c\u3063\u305f\u72ec\u81ea\u306e\u9854\u6599\u3092\u7528\u3044\u305f\u5e73\u9762\u4f5c\u54c1\u3092\u5236\u4f5c\u3002\r\n\u6c17\u6d41\u306b\u3088\u3063\u3066\u5206\u6563\u30fb\u6c88\u964d\u3059\u308b\u81ea\u7136\u306e\u7c92\u5b50\u3068\u4eba\u5de5\u7684\u306b\u4f5c\u3089\u308c\u305f\u7c92\u5b50\u3002\r\n\u30dc\u30fc\u30c0\u30fc\u30ec\u30b9\u306a\u5730\u8cea\u5b66\u7684\u3064\u306a\u304c\u308a\u3068\u5730\u7403\u898f\u6a21\u306e\u4eba\u9593\u306e\u6d3b\u52d5\u3092\u4f8b\u793a\u3059\u308b\u3088\u3046\u306a\u8868\u73fe\u3092\u6a21\u7d22\u3057\u307e\u3059\u3002\r\n\r\n\u25cfYuko Kamei\/\u4e80\u4e95 \u4f51\u5b50\r\n\u79d1\u5b66\u7684\u539f\u7406\u3068\u305d\u308c\u3089\u306e\u5b9f\u751f\u6d3b\u4e0a\u306e\u50cd\u304d\u306e\u9593\u306b\u3064\u3044\u3066\u306e\u95a2\u5fc3\u304b\u3089\u751f\u307e\u308c\u308b\u4f5c\u54c1\u3092\u5236\u4f5c\u3002\r\n\u300c\u30ca\u30c1\u30e5\u30e9\u30eb\u30fb\u30aa\u30ab\u30ec\u30f3\u30b9\u300d\u30b7\u30ea\u30fc\u30ba\u306f\u3001\u706b\u5c71\u306e\u5730\u8868\u9762\u306e\u5199\u771f\u3068\u3001\u81ea\u7136\u3084\u5316\u5b66\u306e\u30d7\u30ed\u30bb\u30b9\u306e\u6839\u5e95\u306b\u3042\u308b\u79d1\u5b66\u7684\u539f\u7406\u306b\u89e6\u767a\u3055\u308c\u305f\u30c9\u30ed\u30fc\u30a4\u30f3\u30b0\u3092\u7d44\u307f\u5408\u308f\u305b\u3066\u5236\u4f5c\u3055\u308c\u3066\u3044\u307e\u3059\u3002\r\n\r\n\u2013\r\n\r\nStudio Deanna works with copper in an innovative way to build wire sculptures. Using various crochet techniques, she imagines possible models of water or fabric that flow while still holding the surface tension of a solid.\r\n\r\nThomas Gillant also works with metal, especially aluminum, as a ground base for oil painting. In his latest series, he experiments with optical effects and the depth of field on a smooth, flat surface.\r\n\r\nMichelle Zacharias also creates paintings but she uses dust particles to create natural pigments. Dust contains natural and artificial particles that are dispersed and sedimented by air currents, exemplifying borderless geological connections and the Anthropocene effect of global human activities.\r\n\r\nYuko Kamei\u2019s artwork derives from her interests in the space between scientific principles and their workings in real life.
